Fyāsvàqù Se (Fyāsvà /qʊ/ [ribbon; tape] [job; career; task]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Kshizbāj̼ Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Fyāsvàqù Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Fyāsvàqù Se was founded by H́i̊tsa Cadwardd, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Fyāsvàqù Se has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Fyāsvàqù Se receives an average of 277 cm/y (109 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Fyāsvàqù Se covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1506 m (4940 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fyāsvàqù Se was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1168, by H́i̊tsa Cadwardd. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Fyāsvàqù Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fyāsvàqù Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Fyāsvàqù Se is buildings have been located at convienant points along the pond Fyāsvàqù Se was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the restrictive packed earth streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Fyāsvàqù Se weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. Unfortuantly, these budget focused millitary grade defenses are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Fyāsvàqù Se is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife.

Civic Infrastructure

Fyāsvàqù Se has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Fyāsvàqù Se. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Fyāsvàqù Se's parks.

Fyāsvàqù Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Fyāsvàqù Se's natural decorations nor waterways.

Fyāsvàqù Se has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Fyāsvàqù Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Fyāsvàqù Se's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

History

Fyāsvàqù Se is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Fyāsvàqù Se was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Fyāsvàqù Se lost 264 people, 234 livestock, and 87 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 94, when members of Fyāsvàqù Se's militia enacted an operation to escort a particular ruin to a safe location. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the ruin, which ended in defeat for Fyāsvàqù Se's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Fyāsvàqù Se's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
